Now that the Patriots 2025 NFL Draft and organized team activities in the rear view mirror the team will now look to the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft to add elite talent. Looking at the current roster the Patriots should continue to look at the wide receiver position for a true big x receiver to help stretch the field. Another position the team could target next year is Tight End as Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper are aging. With the offensive line in flux the team could also continue to add elite talent on the line as well. With this in mind it would depend on how the OT Will Campbell develops as well as other offensive linemen they drafted in recent years. Finally on the defensive side of the ball look for the Patriots to target a linebacker with speed and power as well as to continue to add to the corner back room and defensive line.
With key additions in this past draft with players like OT Will Campbell, RB TreVeyon Henderson, WR Kyle Williams on the offensive side of the ball. Then steals on defense with players like safety Craig Woodson, as well as defensive tackle Joshua Farmer who the Patriots traded up to get in the fourth round. However, my favorite defensive player is explosive Linebacker out of LSU Bradyn Swinson who is an absolute steal in the fifth round of the draft. Finally adding some interesting undrafted players after the draft finished such as speedy wide receiver such as Efton Chism III, Tight End CJ Dippre, Offensive linemen Jack Conley, and running back Lan Larison should add quality depth on the roster as they will push for roster spots on the team.
I close with this for Patriots fans to consider as the team looks forward to the 2026 NFL Draft in Pittsburgh who will make the team? What player will surprise leaving the team to cross off that position to be drafted. Who will Coach Mike Vrabel target in his second draft? I will continue to keep you informed on what players the Patriots will target in 2026.
